Done by french designer Jean-louis Bui. All digital renderings. What does Oppo think?
I kinda like it, although I think the headlights could be more interesting.

I’d give it a B-, if i were the instructor. Solid execution, but no great idea. Hits stylistic reference points, but no surprises. Proportionally, it seems too tall, kind of off.

It’s trying way too hard.

The side surfacing seems a bit uninspired to me. I like it from the B-pillar back, that rear duct is highly suspect though.

I’d agree, forward of the B-pillar it’s a bit too much.

It's just lacking the necessary grace of a sweet Citroen.

Loose the busy side sculpting, give the rear a cleaner sloping, simplify the front, drop the side doors two inches and raise the roof (indeed) one inch.

Found it: the DS sketch I did a few years ago, somewhat impaired in a hotel room
my first sketch thread.
(not implying this is better, it’s just... a different take on a similar idea)

Yeah the side sculpting is very un-Citroen. I think it’s also that the window sill is too high, partially because of the large wheels.

So much better, I love the integration of the SM in the quarter panels and taillights.

It’s actually really hard to make something complex look simple, especially after you’ve had a few.
It also helps if you’re not trying to put 26s on it.

Oh, I’m well aware. It’s what I do all day every day, it’s all in the details.

Right on. Where are you studying? (I’ve got a lot of architects in the family and friends/neighbors)

It looks a bit “messy” to me. Too many odd design details plastered all over in an attempt to make it look more Citroen-y, but without quite capturing the weird elegance. Also like most modern cars I think it has too little glass and too dominating sides - tends to makes it look heavy and uninviting, though this gets away with it better than most IMHO.
Overall, though, I don’t think it’s bad - it sort of fits in with the general style of the DS5 for instance.

Exactly. It hits the tropes, but lacks grace and elegance. Solidly executed. B- work.
